Description

Navagraha Puja is a sacred Hindu ritual performed to seek blessings from the nine planets (Navagrahas)—Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu, and Ketu. This puja is conducted to reduce negative planetary effects and to bring balance, harmony, and positivity into one’s life.

  1. Conducted by Vedic priests with proper Sankalp, Navagraha Avahan, Mantra Jaap, and Havan.
  2. Can be done at home, temples, or sacred places like Trimbakeshwar, Ujjain, or Kalahasti.
  3. No strict fasting required, but spiritual purity and devotion are essential.
  4. Often includes donation of specific items related to each planet (e.g., black cloth for Shani, white rice for Moon).

  1. Kalash (water pot)
  2. Red, white, black, yellow cloths (for different planets)
  3. Akshat (turmeric rice)
  4. Fresh flowers (marigold, lotus, jasmine)
  5. Betel leaves and nuts
  6. Coconut (with husk)
  7. Incense sticks, dhoop, camphor
  8. Ghee, oil lamps
  9. Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar)
  10. Fruits and sweets for prasad
  11. Specific grains and metals for each planet (e.g., wheat for Sun, urad dal for Saturn)
  12. Mantra book or printout (Navagraha Stotra, Beej Mantras)
