The ritual also addresses the three Vedic debts: Pitra Rin (ancestral), Dev Rin (divine), and Rishi Rin (towards sages).
King Harishchandra is said to have performed this puja at Rinmukteshwar Mahadev Temple in Ujjain during Satyug.
